Interview Report: MEA 2015

Yhaaaa this time, on a Saturday night I planned to gather with high school friends who have not met. The event was held at the meet up senopati area, South Jakarta. Here I met my classmates. I was intrigued by the title of the news, and I finally started to discuss about the AEC 2015 (ASEAN Economic Community) or so-called free market asean. More than a decade ago, the ASEAN leaders agreed to establish a single market in Southeast Asia in late 2015. This is done in order to increase the competitiveness of the ASEAN countries. The establishment of the single market are termed by the Society EkonomiAsean (MEA) this will allow the country to sell goods and services easily to other countries in southeast Asia so the competition will be more closely. MEA will make this Southeast Asian region as a great country. Residents in the ASEAN region will have the freedom to crossed the globe, go to one country and out of the other countries in the ASEAN region without the need for a passport. They have the freedom and ease to choose the location of the work that is considered to benefit and satisfaction. Vendor is also free to choose the location of the factory and corporate offices in the ASEAN countries

Revan admitted that he was also quite concerned with the fate of Indonesia later after the enactment of the MEA, labor migration will meningkat.Persaingan will be intense to get the job done. When foreign professionals and skilled invaded Indonesia, then the only employment opportunities for the people of Indonesia are mostly becoming coarse power in their own country or in neighboring countries are more prosperous.

When I asked about the positive impact that will be caused by the MEA 2015. Revan said that the presence of AEC 2015 Indonesia's economy will be more advanced.
